Share a article link, meme, video, image that you think we will find entertaining and/or informative. In that post give us 1-2 sentences summarizing what it is. If it comes with a trigger warning, please specify what nature.
Next, I want you to find and comment on a post from any one in Sections A or B.

Here is a video game in which human and animal are both companions and one in the same when the roleplayer transforms into various animals.

The classic movie Arachnophobia, Starring Jeff Daniels demonstrates the fear humans possess over spiders. The movie conveys how a large spider from the jungles of Venezuela is accidentally transported in a crate with a dead cadaver to a small town in California. Soon after, the residents of a small California town disappear as the result of spider bites from the deadly spider offspring. I know for fact that certain movies like this remind me on how cautions we have to be with spiders as well other forms of poisonous creature, but keep in mind that they're important to us.

Although, spiders are venomous, terrifying and ugly creatures that share the same space we inhabit. We have to keep in mind that they play a huge role in our ecosystem. They keep our world mitigated from small insects and flies. So next time you come across a spider, instead of trying to kill it, let it roam free.

    1. Literally, the reason why I am beyond terrified of spiders. I can't even handle a dead daddy long legs, haha.

  3. I feel as though we have read a number of really disconcerting representations of humans anthropomorphizing animals while maintaining the problematic hierarchy that places humans above animals. Here is a (hopefully) more humorous example of this same concept of anthropomorphic traits being applied to animals:

This is a pretty detailed video about cephalopod (octopus specifically) intelligence. Quite a diverse subject, with applications arising in such far reaching fields as computer graphics and AI. I highly recommend delving deeper into it, as these creatures show up in new scientific literature quite often. Most recently, it's been discovered that octopuses can actually "see" with their skin.

I also think that seeing intelligence can arise in such an alien way (their brains are distributed through their body instead of being centralized to their head!) makes one really re-evaluate their preconceptions on what it means to be sentient. My reverence for these creatures is to such an extent that I've been passing up on the takoyaki and calamari for about 4 years now.

Here is a very cool video discussing the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone National Park. The wolves were relocated to the park in 1995 and have since made a big impact on the ecosystem around them. Wolves are powerful, loyal, family oriented animals which is why the repopulation has so greatly affected the area.

This is the Facebook of the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation, a group I originally found on Instagram. These people are dedicated to helping these big cats survive. I think our instincts are to be angry that they are, you know, not free. But then you remember how evil people are and ready they are to kill these cats for their skins and for trophies. The cats enclosures in this place appear to be fairly large and open. They have lions, tigers, jaguars and a few other types of big cats I believe. They are focusing on cats at the moment, but are aware that other species are endangered as well and are open to helping in any way they can. Check out their About page. :) #ThereIsStill SomeHumanity

Here's a cool popular video called "Interior Crocodile Alligator". It's a loop of an audio byte: "Interior crocodile alligator, I drive a Cheverolet movie theater" compiled with a loop of a alligator walking around. The appeal is the aesthetics generated by the beautiful audio with the entrancing video.

This is a picture of Justin Bieber and a Beluga Whale. I thought it was interesting how they compared a human to an animal in a mockery form. Out of all the possible things they could have compared him to they compared him to an animal. Even though they are making fun of Justin Bieber they are unintentionally mocking a very intelligent majestic animal. Why do we compare most of the things we make fun of to animals?

I thought that this video was lighthearted and cute. It serves as a reminder that we can learn so much from animals, especially dogs.

These are two memes that play on a scene from the 2001 comedy film, Super Troopers, in which Paul Soter's character, Highway Patrol Officer Foster amuses himself while on the job at the expense of a confused traveler.
