Because from a human perspective taming is making them more docile and more susceptible to human demands. I think we should work on approaching and accepting them on their own grounds and less on making them meet us on our terms. Like you said animals can be tamed its just with time. Personally I would still not approach an animal like a lion or tiger even if it's tamed because I would still have that fear that I can be harmed.
